Have undertaken comprehensive overhaul to eliminate NEET paper leaks: Centre tells SC

The Centre has informed the Supreme Court of a comprehensive overhaul to prevent National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) paper leaks. In a compliance affidavit, the Ministry of Education detailed reforms to enhance examination security and institutional memory. The reforms include establishing a robust system, leveraging AI and Blockchain, and implementing stricter penalties as per the Public Examinations Amendment Act, 2026.

A High-Powered Task Force on Examination Reforms, led by Nandan Nilekani, will submit recommendations within three months. The NTA has also put in place a 10-stage security protocol, including using air-gapped AI systems for initial drafting and securing papers in tamper-evident packaging.
