Google Drive steps up its video collaboration game with timestamped comments

Google Drive has enhanced its video collaboration capabilities by introducing timestamped comments. This update allows users to add comments directly to specific moments in a video, making it easier for reviewers to understand and address feedback. When a timestamped comment is added, it appears as a marker on the video's timeline, enabling reviewers to jump directly to the relevant second without having to scrub through the entire clip.

This feature, now available to all Google Workspace customers, streamlines the review process and saves time, especially for those who frequently collaborate on video projects. Although mobile users can still view timestamped comments, they are displayed as regular file comments rather than timeline markers. The addition of this feature aligns with Google's ongoing efforts to bridge feature gaps with dedicated review tools like Frame.io and Vimeo.
