Fuel Switch Snapshot: B100 and LBM prices decline in Rotterdam

Rotterdam's B100 remains a premium over VLSFO, but the price gap has narrowed to $41/mt. In contrast, Singapore's B100 is a $6/mt discount to LSMGO, down from $2/mt premium last week. Liquefied biomethane (LBM) in Rotterdam has regained its price advantage over VLSFO for Otto medium speed engines, shifting from a $25/mt premium a week ago to a $68/mt discount.

Diesel slow speed (diesel SS) engines face a wider LBM discount to VLSFO in Rotterdam, now at $242/mt. Singapore LNG has narrowed its premium over LSMGO for Otto MS engines to $4/mt, down $11/mt from a week earlier. Diesel SS engine LNG is priced $79/mt below LSMGO in Singapore. VLSFO and LSMGO in Rotterdam have climbed by $26-34/mt over the past week, despite a $6.89/bbl slump in ICE Brent futures to $83.92/bbl and a $1.85/mtCO2e decrease in EUA prices to $93.34/mtCO2e.

HSFO in Rotterdam has fallen by $45/mt. B100 prices have dropped by $43/mt in Rotterdam, while Dutch ZRE A ticket prices have increased by €25/mtCO2e to €130/mtCO2e, exerting downward pressure on B100. VLSFO in Singapore has risen by $16/mt, while LSMGO has edged down by $4/mt. Rotterdam's LNG prices have fallen by $67/mt, while LBM has retreated by $67-68/mt.

LBM discounts to LNG in Rotterdam remain broadly unchanged but have widened slightly to $290-298/mt. Singapore's LNG prices have eased by $15/mt. Tight fuel availability persists in the ARA, with suppliers recommending 5-7 day lead times for prompt deliveries.
