Family to conduct second autopsy for Hlun Solo after body returns to Thailand

Bangkok — The relatives of popular Thai travel vlogger Hlun Solo have announced plans for a second autopsy after his remains are repatriated from Georgia, ahead of their funeral rites in Thailand. An update published on Monday evening revealed the family's intention to send the body to Thailand's Central Institute of Forensic Science for a more thorough examination, aiming to ensure all procedures are meticulously executed and transparent.

The family anticipates the entire process to span one to two days following the body's arrival in Thailand, with the funeral rites scheduled to take place at their residence. Specifics regarding the funeral's date, time, and location will be disclosed post-arrangement finalization. The family expressed their deep appreciation for the widespread support they have received since Hlun Solo's passing, attributing it to figures such as Chulalongkorn University President Wilert Puriwat, Political Science Dean Pakorn Siriprapob, and the Faculty of Political Science for agreeing to accommodate the first night of funeral prayers.

In response to inquiries from individuals eager to contribute to the funeral preparations, the family clarified their stance, emphasizing they would welcome donations of necessary items for the event, such as tents, tables, chairs, fans, sound systems, lighting, portable toilets, drinking water, and other essential supplies. They assured that they would not solicit financial contributions but sought to provide those wishing to pay their respects an opportunity to assist according to their capabilities.

Hlun Solo, a prominent Thai travel influencer, tragically lost his life in Georgia while filming for his YouTube channel. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation by Georgian authorities.
