ChatGPT Pro replaced Gemini Notebook as my favorite research app, and I didn’t see it coming

When I first started using Gemini Notebook, it quickly became my go-to research app. I relied on it for everything from organizing work to studying new topics. However, over time, I found myself using ChatGPT Pro's Work mode more frequently. At first, I kept using both apps, but gradually, I found myself opening ChatGPT Work instead. Eventually, I realized I hadn't opened Gemini Notebook in days. Now, I don't use it at all.

Using ChatGPT Work feels remarkably similar to using Gemini Notebook. Opening Work mode and starting with a simple prompt like "Let's talk about this X topic" allows ChatGPT to build a workspace around that idea. I appreciate how everything stays organized, with two panels on the right: Outputs and Sources. I prefer adding my own sources, trusting the AI's research only when necessary.

The Outputs panel is where ChatGPT turns your research into tangible results. I've built websites and documents using Work mode, creating a workspace where I can ask follow-up questions, challenge ideas, and refine my research. All my sources remain visible, making it easy to add, remove, or revisit original material for fact-checking.

While ChatGPT Work feels like Gemini Notebook, the subscription offers much more. I can schedule reminders, set future text message reminders, get daily briefings, automate tasks, and even shop for items. It's like having an assistant that helps throughout the day. Additionally, the new Shopping mode simplifies decision-making by generating a list of options, comparing features, and highlighting pros and cons.

ChatGPT Pro's versatility allows me to generate images, create short videos, build websites, write documents, analyze files, and automate tasks. Instead of juggling multiple AI tools, I now have one platform for almost everything I need. Although Gemini Notebook is still an excellent research tool, ChatGPT Pro has become an all-in-one solution for my workflow.
