Cameras Catch Allisha Gray’s Early Locker Room Exit After Nasty Face-First Fall vs. Aces

In a recent WNBA game between the Washington Mystics and the Atlanta Dream, Allisha Gray, the Dream's star guard, suffered a significant injury during the second quarter. As the Dream aimed to equalize the score, entering with a 56.1% chance of winning, Gray faced Atlanta Dream star Jackie Young in the paint. Instead of blocking Young's shot, she attempted to leap into the air, resulting in an awkward flip that caused her to land awkwardly on her left hand, head, and neck.

The collision and subsequent fall, captured on video by Victory+ W, left Gray visibly in pain on the floor for several moments. Her teammates rushed to her aid, and the Dream's medical staff quickly arrived on the court. After a brief moment of visible discomfort, Gray managed to get to her feet and walked to the locker room unassisted.

Despite her injury, Gray returned to the game in the third quarter but was unable to contribute significantly, scoring only seven points, one rebound, and two assists in 30 minutes. Atlanta's five-game winning streak came to an end, as their first loss since August 1 was sealed by an 109-87 defeat to the Aces. The Aces' victory was largely attributed to the combined efforts of Young and A’ja Wilson, who scored 51 points combined.

With the playoffs approaching, Atlanta remains hopeful that Gray's injury will not lead to her missing any extended time.
