The President's obsession with his legacy has led to a significant portion of his "mind share" being devoted to these renovations, as reported by The Washington Post.

Contractors are now having to redo their work on the helipad, as Trump demands a perfectly level surface on his South Lawn, which is anything but level. Other projects in the works include the possible construction of a 250-foot arch, the re-gilding of four statues near the Lincoln Memorial, and the repair of the Reflecting Pool.

Trump's construction frenzy has only intensified since his return to office, as other agenda items have failed to materialize. His latest plan could be approved by early next month, with the National Park Service concluding that it would have adverse effects on over three dozen historic sites in the DC area. Despite the grim statistics on traffic injuries, there have been some positive developments, with global road deaths falling by 21 percent between 2011 and 2025.
