During a Monday press conference, Boone praised Stanton's progress, stating, "G's been hitting a ton already" and "it's good to see him outdoors and moving." While these comments might seem positive on the surface, they come across as overly optimistic given Stanton's injury history.

The phrase "outdoors and moving" is typically reserved for patients who have overcome severe health issues or those who have been rescued from dire situations. A professional athlete's recovery from this perspective does not warrant such language. Stanton's situation is particularly concerning; he has not played 115 games in a season since 2021 and has appeared in only 24 games so far this year, compared to 77 last season.

Despite his occasional power threat, the Yankees desperately need his return, along with that of star outfielder Aaron Judge, to keep up with their division rivals. While it's encouraging that Stanton is making progress, the use of "outdoors and moving" in this context falls short of inspiring confidence in his full recovery.
