'Women become Leftist after meeting Islamists': Kangana claims to be 'awakened Hindu'

NEW DELHI: In a recent social media post, BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her thoughts on the ideological shifts she has observed in Hindu women, particularly those in the film industry, after their interactions with Islamists. Ranaut, who identifies as a moderate Hindu, stated that many Hindu women she has encountered lack a clear political or religious ideology.

She observed that meeting Islamists leads to a significant change in their thinking, making them adopt a more defined ideology and, in many cases, become Leftist. Ranaut defended this perspective, emphasizing that the Constitution grants individuals the freedom to choose any religion or ideology, within their rights. She also shared her own journey, transitioning from being a moderate Hindu to wanting to become an "awakened Hindu" like those in the BJP and RSS.

Ranaut argued for the importance of allowing Hindu women the freedom to adopt a defined ideological identity, criticizing the notion that such a path is closed for them. These remarks come amid a heated debate between Ranaut and leaders of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) following her criticism of the protesters involved in the agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak.
