Wayne Taylor “so f***ing happy” after WTR ends IMSA win drought

After an 18-month struggle, Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) achieved victory at the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America, marking their first win since becoming a factory partner with Cadillac and their first overall win since June 2024. The team secured third place, bringing their total to 54 IMSA class wins, thus ending a tie with Brumos Racing and Champion Racing.

The win was achieved by two Cadillac V-Series.R entries, driven by Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque, and Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz. The team owner, Wayne Taylor, expressed immense pride in the achievement, stating, "When we don't get results, I feel like I've let them down." He also criticized the 60-second penalty given to the No. 40 car for driving too quickly near safety workers, calling it "pretty much out of hand" when a standard drive-through would have sufficed.

The victory came after a challenging period following WTR's return to General Motors under GM leadership, which led to self-doubt among the drivers and management. Wayne Taylor emphasized the importance of keeping everyone positive and passionate, crediting Cadillac for their partnership in this success.
