Visitors to The Kallang can tap new tech tools to boost leisure experience
A five-year partnership with Deloitte aims to keep visitors to The Kallang engaged beyond event days.
Patrons attending events at The Kallang in Singapore may soon have the option to utilize a new mobile application to order food and beverages without interruption. This app, currently in its early stages, will also allow sports enthusiasts to receive live scores from matches taking place throughout the precinct and engage with fellow spectators in real-time.
James Walton, the sports business group leader at Deloitte Asia-Pacific and South-east Asia, explained that the app is part of a broader initiative to revitalize the former Singapore Sports Hub and foster a deeper connection between the venue and its visitors. The project, a five-year collaboration between The Kallang Group and Deloitte, aims to create immersive digital experiences for both locals and tourists, extending the venue's appeal beyond just concert and sports event days.
Currently, the app offers a centralized platform for users to browse concert tickets, arrange sports court reservations, make dining bookings, and access the perks of The Kallang Kaki loyalty program. It also assists with navigation and event schedules across the precinct, which includes facilities such as the National Stadium, Singapore Indoor Stadium, OCBC Aquatic Centre, Kallang Tennis Hub, Kallang Wave Mall, and the Water Sports Centre.
A novel addition to the app is the Deloitte Sphere, a massive outdoor LED sphere that will serve as a real-time broadcast hub for announcements, community initiatives, interactive fan engagements, and live sports updates. Powered by artificial intelligence-driven insights, the application will provide personalized recommendations tailored to users' preferences, whether they are K-pop fans, food enthusiasts, or casual weekend athletes.
Since the government assumed ownership of the Singapore Sports Hub in December 2022, the precinct has welcomed over 4,000 sporting, entertainment, and community events, drawing nearly 10 million visitors. Upcoming highlights include the Singapore Tennis Open in September and The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn tour at the National Stadium in October.
