Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is Getting an IMAX Release Very Soon

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be hitting IMAX screens in the United States very soon, starting Thursday. The film is set to share the giant screens with The Odyssey, continuing its run in IMAX 70MM through mid-September. Despite initial doubts, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has proven to be a massive success, opening to the second largest worldwide opening weekend ever, behind Avengers: Endgame, and even surpassing Endgame's domestic opening weekend.

With gross revenue of $360 million in the US alone, the film has exceeded all expectations. Director Destin Daniel Cretton, who described the movie as being "made for the IMAX experience," confirmed that specific sequences were shot for this format. Cretton expressed his excitement about the IMAX experience, stating that it offers a unique perspective, making viewers feel like they're standing on the edge of a skyscraper and hearing the wind and sound of Spider-Man swinging through New York. Tickets for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in IMAX will go on sale tomorrow.
