Semenyo hails Maresca style of play as 'music to my ears'

Antoine Semenyo, Manchester City's forward, has expressed his delight at Enzo Maresca's managerial style, describing it as "music to my ears". This sentiment stems from the early glimpses of Maresca's approach during City's recent match in Hong Kong, where they were defeated by Inter Milan on penalties. Despite the loss, the team displayed the attacking intent Maresca will bring to the club following Pep Guardiola's departure.

Semenyo, who played the first 45 minutes of the game, showcased his pace and direct running, troubling Inter's Andy Diouf and setting up Divine Mukasa's goal. Substitutes Ryan McAidoo also impressed, with Maresca praising the new wingers as "aggressive" and those who "take on their man in one-v-one situations". Semenyo, who praised the new manager's ideas, said they are "very similar to Pep's", but added that Maresca's style allows him to create chances through one-on-one duels.

The player, who joined City from Bournemouth for £65m in January, praised Maresca's ideas, which he believes are "great". Semenyo, who moved to Manchester City to take the next step in his career, credited his former club for helping his Premier League career flourish under previous management. Semenyo, a devout Christian, also shared his faith journey, stating that he prays before games and at hotel before matches, which he believes gives him maximum strength.
