'Not giving up': Vinesh Phogat says wrestlers to appeal against Brij Bhushan's acquittal in sexual harassment case

Vinesh Phogat expressed her deep sorrow over the acquittal of Brij Bhushan Singh, ex-chief of the Wrestling Federation of India, in a sexual harassment case filed by six female wrestlers. Phogat stated that they had gathered courage to protest on the streets demanding an FIR against Bhushan, but he used "power and muscle" to discredit their claims.

The Delhi court cleared Bhushan in the case two years after the trial began. Phogat emphasized that many wrestlers fought against Bhushan even as the system aimed to protect him. She highlighted that the women wrestlers are now appealing the acquittal as soon as possible and vowed to continue their fight. Bhushan, however, reacted to his acquittal with a sense of happiness, stating that his initial statement about facing the harshest punishment if any allegation was proved had come true.
