MSI launches a white 16-inch gaming laptop with a 12GB RTX 5070 and a pile of matching accessories

MSI has unveiled the Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition, a sleek white-and-red gaming laptop complete with an array of matching accessories. This upper mid-range laptop carries the MLG moniker, short for Mo-Loong-Gi, a character invented by MSI instead of Major League Gaming. The priciest configuration showcases a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU boasting 12GB of GDDR7 memory.

The CPU and GPU can consume up to 190W during simultaneous operations, thanks to two fans, five heat pipes, and four exhaust vents for cooling. Featuring a 16-inch QHD+ display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and claimed 100% DCI-P3 coverage, the laptop's specifications haven't detailed the available RAM and storage configurations.

Nevertheless, it supports two DDR5 slots with a maximum capacity of 96GB memory, alongside PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 storage support. The laptop is equipped with HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6E, and USB-C with DisplayPort output and Power Delivery ports. Included in the special-edition package are a matching mouse, headset, and extended mouse pad. MSI plans to release a limited character figure and unique packaging in select markets while stocks last.

However, the US price and specific configuration for American retailers remain unannounced. This laptop appears to be part of MSI's newer Crosshair A16 HX E8W family, but the existing US configurations divide its two primary specs across separate models. The E8WGK-009US features the Ryzen 9 8940HX with an RTX 5070 carrying 8GB of GDDR7 memory, while the E8WGXK-052US opts for the 12GB RTX 5070 but reduces to a Ryzen 7 8840HX.

An 8GB RTX 5070 Crosshair A16 HX is currently listed on Amazon for approximately $2,700. The white exterior, 12GB GPU, matching peripherals, and limited-edition extras may push the MLG Edition's price above that of its Amazon listing. Apple's MacBook Neo poses a challenge for inexpensive Windows machines, with Acer's Go Air attempting to respond by incorporating elements left behind by Apple.

The new Go Air configuration in China is powered by Intel's recently released Core 5 320 processor, featuring 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB SSD, priced at roughly $815. While global availability for this specific model hasn't been confirmed, it seems identical to Acer's Swift 14 showcased at Computex 2026.
