MS NOW Sets Debut For Peter Alexander’s Weekday Show

Peter Alexander's new MS NOW program, "State of Play with Peter Alexander," is set to premiere on Monday, August 10. This marks a significant shift for Alexander, who formerly worked at NBC News. The show will air from Washington, D.C., weekdays at 11 a.m. ET, with Alexander also taking on the roles of chief national reporter and breaking news anchor.

It will concentrate on political and national news via original reporting, interviews, and analysis. The program will be overseen by executive producer Sandi Cohen. Alexander has spent over two decades at NBC News, including roles such as chief White House correspondent, co-anchoring "Saturday Today," and covering four presidential administrations.

His hiring is seen as a major talent acquisition for MS NOW since its separation from NBC News in March. The show is positioned to play a pivotal role in the 2028 election cycle and midterm elections. The network has invested heavily in building its own reporting operation, hiring additional talent and expanding its D.C. bureau in recent months. Former anchor Antonia Hylton will now helm her own program.
