Lions' Sione Vaki leaves practice with eye injury

Detroit Lions running back Sione Vaki exited Monday's practice in Allen Park with an eye injury, further complicating his ongoing health issues. The incident occurred during one of the initial 11-on-11 drills of the afternoon when Vaki was tackled by veteran safety Chuck Clark while running to the left side. Vaki, who missed substantial time during last year's training camp, sustained the injury after being poked in the eye by Clark's tackle and remained on the ground after the play.

The Lions also reported that wide receiver Lawrence Keys and tight end Anthony Firkser exited practice with leg injuries, marking the first instances of players leaving the session with protective gear on. Both Firkser, who recently signed with the team on Friday after a series of stints with the Lions, and Keys, who showed promise early in the camp, now face uncertainty regarding their roster status, contingent on the severity of their respective injuries.
