Lenovo’s full-size Googlebook leak offers a closer look at hardware [Gallery]

Shortly after images of Lenovo's Googlebooks emerged, detailed photos of the 15-inch laptop surfaced, showcasing its full design. Google's new laptop line, known as Googlebook, combines elements from Chromebooks with the addition of Gemini Intelligence and Android elements. Although we have seen software glimpses, a tangible release has yet to be officially introduced.

Digital Citizen shared this image, offering a closer look at one of the two Lenovo Googlebooks planned for production in partnership with Google - the 15-inch variant.

The 15-inch Googlebook will feature the Lenovo logo on the lid, with the Google logo printed underneath the left keyboard. The keyboard holds a fun feature, as the traditional start button found on Chromebooks is replaced with a Google "G" logo. The caps lock key sports a new launcher-like appearance, though its function remains unclear.

It might replace the search function typically served by the caps lock key on Chromebooks. Another interesting addition includes the return of Android navigation keys, taking the place of escape, screenshot buttons, and brightness controls. Near the end of this row, two unknown keys could potentially serve as accessibility or profile toggles alongside a voice-to-text button.

On the desktop, standard Android features like a clock, date, and battery status indicator are present. Instead of a notification tray, a notification launcher resembling a bell icon takes its place, with the Gemini star alongside it. The software aspects are reminiscent of previous Googlebook teasers, but these images provide a more comprehensive view.

Lenovo's Googlebook 15 is expected to come equipped with an HDMI port, USB-C port with a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB-A port on the right side. The bottom of the laptop reveals a solid construction with visible machine screws, suggesting potential configurability or repairability. Additionally, fluted design panels and small fan intakes are visible, hinting at a high-end design.

This batch of images provides a solid glimpse into Lenovo's Googlebook hardware, which appears to cater to macOS users with its functionality. The company is also reportedly developing a 2-in-1 version of the laptop. For now, it is up to Gemini to deliver a software experience that matches the hardware's capabilities.
