(LEAD) Christopher Nolan invites Korean audience to embark on cinematic adventure with 'The Odyssey'

Christopher Nolan, renowned filmmaker known for his epic films such as "Inception," "Interstellar," and "Dunkirk," has extended an invitation to Korean audiences to embark on a cinematic adventure with his upcoming film, "The Odyssey." The movie follows the perilous journey of Odysseus, portrayed by Matt Damon, as he returns home after the Trojan War.

Nolan visited South Korea for the first time to promote the film, which stars an ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, and Zendaya. Speaking at a press conference, Nolan emphasized the unique experience that the cinema provides, aiming for Korean audiences to feel as though they are part of Odysseus' journey on the deck of the ship, scaling mountains, or venturing into the Cyclops cave.

The film was shot entirely with IMAX cameras to maximize the theatrical experience. Nolan also highlighted the universal themes of the story, which resonate with people across different cultures, including those in South Korea, France, and the United States. Producer Emma Thomas echoed Nolan's sentiments, stressing the power of cinema to unite people worldwide and foster meaningful discussions.

Both Nolan and Theron expressed excitement about the film's potential reception in South Korea, following the success of their previous works such as "Interstellar" which had a strong impact on Korean audiences.
