K League's Jeju SK FC ready to learn from Bayern Munich in exhibition match

The South Korean football club Jeju SK FC is set to learn from Bayern Munich players during an upcoming exhibition match at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Jeju's head coach, Sergio Costa, along with goalkeeper Kim Dong-jun, will face off against the German giants. Jeju recently played a 3-3 draw against Incheon United in the K League 1 and secured a penalty victory over Hwaseong FC in the round of 32 of the Korea Cup.

Costa aims to minimize injury risks by only fielding players who played full 90 minutes on Sunday and 120 minutes in last week's match. Costa hopes his players will compete, try to implement Jeju's model, and enjoy the match as they face a top-tier team like Bayern Munich. Kim Dong-jun expressed his admiration for Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and is eager to learn from the encounter.

Costa, who previously coached South Korea at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, also had a chance to meet Bayern center back Kim Min-jae, who has seen a decline in playing time since joining Bayern three years ago. Costa believes Kim should focus on his strengths, such as strong defensive skills, speed, and versatility, in order to make a positive impact during the match.
