It's a new era, the past is the past - Peixoto

Wolves head coach Cesar Peixoto is focusing on the future, leaving behind the challenges of recent seasons at Molineux. The Portuguese coach, who took over from Rob Edwards last month, inherited a team that finished at the bottom of the Premier League last year with only three victories. However, after a 3-0 pre-season friendly win against La Liga side Racing Santander, Peixoto claims that confidence has been restored.

"It's a new era," he told BBC Radio WM, emphasizing that the past should not be a hindrance. Peixoto, making his first senior coaching move outside of Portugal, believes his squad is committed to their style of play and is ready to achieve a successful season. The coach highlighted the importance of organization and attacking play, stating that the players are adapting to his methods.

Wolves has already brought back striker Raul Jimenez and signed full-back Kieran Trippier, with winger Rafiki Said being the only addition since Peixoto's arrival. Peixoto anticipates more transfer activity before the window closes on September 1st and expressed confidence in his current team. He stated that the players work hard, have a good spirit, and are the ones he wants to work with at the moment.
