Free Sanskrit course begins at AU

Andhra University, in partnership with the Central Sanskrit University, inaugurated a complimentary one-year Sanskrit language course on Monday. The course will be conducted from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are no age restrictions or tuition fees, and successful participants will be awarded certificates, according to Dr. K. Yedukondalu, Head of the Sanskrit Department.

Speaking at the launch event, A.P. Samskruta Bharati State President Sundara Raj Perumall encouraged participants to take advantage of the opportunity to learn Sanskrit, emphasizing the importance of studying India's classical texts. He also discussed the health benefits and various applications of Sanskrit. Andhra University's Arts and Commerce College Principal, Jaladi Ravi, noted that the National Education Policy promotes the study of multiple languages and observed a growing interest among students in learning Sanskrit.
