Forget the pain and hurt, support me and let’s unite the party – Paul Afoko to NPP

Paul Afoko, the National Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on party members to set aside past disagreements and unite behind his bid to lead the party. Unity is the only path to restoring the NPP to power, according to Afoko, who spoke in an interview on JoyNews. He acknowledged the party's defeat in the 2024 general election and stressed the need for the NPP to heal internal divisions before reconnecting with Ghanaians.

Afoko urged members to focus on rebuilding ahead of the next general election, emphasizing that past pains and hurt should be put aside. He appealed directly to delegates to support his candidature, promising to strengthen party structures and deepen unity if elected. Regaining political power should be the party's primary objective to implement its policies and improve the lives of Ghanaians, Afoko stated.

Reaching out to every section of society, including the youth, business community, and women, is crucial for the party's reconstruction, according to Afoko. He shared his personal experience to demonstrate that old wounds can be overcome for the greater good of the party. Afoko has already begun engaging party members across Ghana, emphasizing his commitment to the party's betterment rather than personal ambition.
