Delhi Police says no FIR yet against minor who abused PM Modi during CJP protest; Kejriwal, Saurav Das extend support

The Delhi Police reported on Monday that no regular First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet in connection with the alleged abusive remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by a minor girl. A zero FIR was transferred by the Noida Police last week but has not been converted into a regular FIR in Delhi, which means the case has not been withdrawn at this stage.

Senior police sources told ANI, "No regular FIR has been registered by Delhi Police so far in connection with the alleged abusive remarks by the minor girl against the Prime Minister. A decision on a regular FIR is yet to be taken considering the minor's claim." A day before, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal accused Modi of intimidating the youth during the incident and assured the girl involved that he stood with her.

Kejriwal stated, "What Modi ji did to Ruchika Singh is a cowardly act. By doing this to Ruchika, you want to instil fear in the youth. But the fear of you and your police has now been eradicated from the hearts of the youth. You intimidate one Ruchika, and ten more Ruchikas are posting videos against you on social media." Former CJP spokesperson Saurav Das also criticized the registration of a zero FIR against the minor, questioning why similar action was not taken against MPs facing criminal charges.

Das condemned the use of the criminal justice system to target and harass individuals and called for an end to the harassment of the youth by the police. The minor, identified as 15 years old, later apologized for her remarks in a video, stating she was influenced and extremely embarrassed and ashamed.
