Cable Beach camel bucks tourists off during sunset ride

A woman in her 60s suffered injuries after a camel went out of control during a sunset tour on Cable Beach in Western Australia. Videos captured on social media show two people being thrown off the wild camel at the popular tourist destination. One of the injured individuals was discharged from Broome Hospital, while the other remains in a stable condition.

The incident occurred over the weekend when the camel broke free from the rest of the tour group and began bucking in the sand. St John Ambulance reported that paramedics responded to the scene and took the woman to the hospital with serious injuries. The cause of the camel's erratic behavior remains unknown. Camel rides on Cable Beach have been a staple of Broome tourism for decades, attracting tens of thousands of visitors annually.

Shire of Broome president Chris Mitchell stated that such incidents are rare, expressing sympathy for the injured and reaffirming the town's commitment to safety and providing unique experiences for tourists. Red Sun Camels, one of the tour companies operating in the area, declined to comment on the matter.
