Big Chef Junior Season 5 launches with pizza-inspired theme

Joy Prime has launched the fifth season of Big Chef Junior, featuring 12 young contestants under the theme "The Perfect Pizza". The launch event, held on Sunday, celebrated the unique traits each contestant brings to the competition, likening them to essential ingredients in a pizza. The show opened with a performance by Nsoromma Season 8 winner Kobby, who then introduced the contestants as the 12 crucial components that make up the perfect pizza.

Host Michelle Agyekum officially welcomed the audience and explained how each contestant would contribute their distinct strengths to the Big Chef Junior kitchen. This season's judges, Chef Gigi and Chef Michael, will guide and evaluate the participants as they tackle various culinary challenges. The event also included a comedy act by Kojo PJay before revealing all 12 contestants: Akosua Appiah, Clara Amadu, Queenita Yayra Kabu, Grace Onia, Sethlyne Ama Klido, T'Yanna Adjetey, Michael Rhema Otokunor, Nana Akua Afriyie Akyea, Hamdiya Abubakarr, Jeremiah Kwakye, Christabel Aseye, and Afia G. Aseda Sarbeng.

Former contestants and their families, media personalities, partners, and invited guests attended the launch, emphasizing the show's role in nurturing creativity, confidence, discipline, and teamwork among young participants. Now in its fifth season, Big Chef Junior continues to inspire children's passion for cooking while teaching practical life skills.

The competition airs every Sunday on Joy Prime, with Big Chef Diary Sessions offering behind-the-scenes glimpses into the contestants' lives on Tuesdays.
