Verstappen Racing gets back to winning ways in 2026 at Magny-Cours

Max Verstappen's GT3 team secured their first victory of the season at the Magny-Cours circuit, marking a significant comeback at the first European Sprint race of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe. Although Formula 1's summer hiatus had commenced, other racing series remained active, offering fans an array of thrilling events. The GT World Challenge Europe staged the event at the Magny-Cours track, where Verstappen's GT3 squad took to the track.

Jules Gounon started the race at the front of the grid, setting the pace alongside Dani Juncadella in the #3 Mercedes-AMG. The duo emerged victorious, claiming the crucial first position in Race 1. Verstappen expressed his immense pride, stating, "So proud. Well done everyone." Juncadella echoed the sentiment, declaring, "Can confirm #3 wins races! LFG!!! The excitement surrounding the win continued as the race weekend unfolded. Verstappen, currently on a holiday in Italy, was spotted alongside Mercedes CEO and team principal Toto Wolff for the second consecutive year. In 2025, Verstappen shared that their meeting was purely personal, emphasizing the absence of any business interaction or future considerations. Wolff also downplayed any expectations, stating that simply vacationing near each other does not imply any working relationship in Formula 1.
