Tsunoda rules out switch and focuses on this difficult scenario

Yuki Tsunoda, the former Formula 1 driver, is not contemplating a move away from the sport just yet, despite the challenges he faced this year. After speaking with those involved, it is understood that a switch to IndyCar is not on the table at least for now. Tsunoda, who had hoped to return to Red Bull Racing as Max Verstappen's teammate, was instead promoted to the role of reserve driver.

This year, Tsunoda has been finding his time in Formula 1 somewhat "boring," due to the lack of competition and the absence of the fastest cars.

Although Tsunoda misses the thrill of Formula 1, he is acutely aware of the limited opportunities available to him for a full-time return to the grid. Potential temporary returns to Red Bull Racing are possible only if one of the full-time drivers cannot compete. Permanent comebacks appear to be unrealistic given the strong performances of Arvid Lindblad, Liam Lawson, and the upcoming Nikola Tsolov. Earlier rumors of a move to Haas have also been dismissed as untrue.

Despite these setbacks, Tsunoda remains determined to pursue his Formula 1 dream. There is interest from IndyCar, with Honda showing a keen interest in Tsunoda. However, Tsunoda himself is focusing on finding a new opportunity within Formula 1. A move to IndyCar is not currently on his radar, as he is concentrating solely on securing a new role in the sport he loves.
