Survey says: Here are the Apple products readers still expect this year

Question 1 in the Mashable Big Guessing Game: Apple Edition asked readers if Apple would announce the release of a foldable iPhone in 2026. The majority, 68 percent, believed the foldable iPhone, potentially called the iPhone Ultra, would debut this year. Only 32 percent disagreed with this prediction.

In Question 2, the focus was on whether the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max would be available in a black color option. Fans were disappointed by the lack of a black option when the iPhone 17 Pro was launched last year. However, leaked information suggested a dark grey color similar to black might be the alternative. As it turned out, 68 percent of respondents expected Apple to offer a black iPhone this year.

Question 3 inquired about the possibility of Apple introducing a touchscreen MacBook in 2026. Reports of MacBook Pros with OLED screens and touchscreens have been circulating for some time. When Mashable asked their readers, 55 percent anticipated the first-ever touchscreen MacBook, while 45 percent were skeptical.

Question 4 centered around the likelihood of Apple releasing new AirPods in 2026. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple is developing AirPods with built-in cameras to support new Siri AI features. While these cameras would not be used for photography, they could enhance Siri's capabilities. The majority of respondents, 74 percent, believed that new AirPods would indeed be launched this year, while 26 percent disagreed.

Lastly, Question 5 asked if an M6 series chip would be announced in 2026. Apple typically releases new silicon at this time of year, so 65 percent of readers expected the M6 chip to arrive this year.
