Sharmila slams A.P. government for neglecting Godavari flood victims

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y. S. Sharmila criticized the TDP-led coalition government for neglecting the needs of flood victims in Godavari-affected regions. Sharmila accused the government of showing more interest in praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi than in addressing the flood crisis. She expressed shock that nearly 20,000 people had lost their homes and livelihoods, yet the government had shown little concern in providing immediate rehabilitation.

Sharmila questioned why residents were not evacuated in advance when the flood was imminent and demanded that the government provide food, essential commodities, and medical services to the affected families. She also called for Rehabilitation and Resettlement packages for residents of Polavaram submergence villages.
