Russian bomb strike kills one in Zaporizhzhya residential area

Russian forces launched a bomb strike on Zaporizhzhya on August 2, targeting a residential area and resulting in one fatality, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov. The same evening, Russia conducted a second attack on the city using guided aerial bombs, causing damage to a high-rise building, automobiles, and warehouse facilities.

As of 5:38 p.m. local time, two individuals sustained injuries, with both experiencing acute stress reactions and currently under medical monitoring. The victim's body was retrieved from the debris following the initial assault, reported Fedorov in an update. He provided visual evidence of the impacted region, stating initially, based on preliminary data, that one person had perished and another might be entombed beneath the ruins. Rescue teams were actively engaged at the scene.
