Russia pounds Kyiv, killing 10 as Ukraine says it has run out of Patriot interceptor missiles; Moscow blast kills 3

On Saturday, Russia launched a relentless missile and drone assault on Kyiv, resulting in at least 10 fatalities, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Zelenskiy revealed that Russia fired 35 missiles, comprising 27 ballistic missiles and 185 drones, with only one ballistic missile being intercepted due to the exhaustion of Ukraine's Patriot interceptor missiles.

The relentless barrage triggered explosions across the capital, damaging residential buildings, a school, infrastructure facilities, and the Lithuanian Embassy. Seven districts of Kyiv were targeted by the attack. The Prosecutor General's Office reported that seven individuals were killed in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, two more in the Solomyanskyi district, and another person died in the surrounding Kyiv region, bringing the death toll to 10.

Dozens of people, including four children, sustained injuries. Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the city's expansion of bomb shelters as Russian attacks escalate. This marks the second major attack on Kyiv within a week; on Thursday, a Russian assault claimed nine lives, including six family members near Kryvyi Rih. Ukraine has persistently sought additional Patriot air defense systems and interceptor missiles from its allies, warning that dwindling supplies are undermining its capacity to thwart Russia's escalating missile attacks.

Meanwhile, in Moscow, a homemade bomb detonated near the upscale Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant on Saturday evening, claiming the lives of three people and injuring at least 21 others. The woman behind the bomb was apprehended by a security guard before the explosion occurred. Authorities have yet to identify the perpetrators responsible for the blast.
