PH tiada alasan kukuh untuk terus dipilih pengundi, kata wakil DAP

In a statement on Facebook, Rajiv Rishyakaran, an ADUN DAP, criticized the Pakatan Harapan (PH) for failing to present a strong reason for voters to continue choosing them. Rishyakaran argued that the current narrative of PH lacks a convincing explanation for the electorate, as it does not offer a compelling reason to vote for them beyond simply being in the government.

He emphasized that while DAP holds around 20% of parliamentary seats, they are not the only party making decisions. To become a mature administration party without compromising its struggle principles, PH must clearly define its purpose and state the reasons for being in the government, beyond the easy slogan "we're better than them."

Rishyakaran urged PH to openly explain its socio-economic formula and relations with the groups it represents as part of the 'Malaysian Malaysia' vision. He also called for PH to outline a 20-year vision for the nation, addressing issues such as public healthcare, low wages, income inequality, the acceleration of the energy transition, and the modernization of the education system.

However, he stressed that a narrative is meaningless without concrete actions in government. PH needs to demonstrate the true value of progressive and efficient administration to the public now. Failure to offer a clear narrative and prove its ability to implement it before the 2016 general election will allow the opposition narrative to continue prevailing, according to Rishyakaran.

PH only won 11 seats in the recent State election in Negeri Sembilan, while the BN-PN coalition secured a two-thirds majority with 25 seats. PH's performance in the 2023 State election was also poor, with only 17 seats compared to 17 in the 2023 State election.
