Pakatan BN-PN ancaman untuk PH terus berkuasa, kata Chow

DAP's Penang chief Chow Kon Yeow has warned that a collaboration between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) could threaten the party's grip on power in Penang, potentially leading to the downfall of the PH government in the 16th General Election. The political landscape has shifted significantly since BN and PN's successful cooperation in ousting PH in the State Legislative Assembly elections, where BN and PN secured 25 seats and a two-thirds majority.

This outcome clearly indicates that the coalition's non-legal status could pose a serious challenge to DAP's future and its ability to govern. The recent crisis facing the party may result in the collapse of the PH government in the upcoming General Election, according to Chow, who addressed a 60th anniversary dinner of DAP and marked 40 years of the party's historic victory in Tanjong.

Drawing attention to the accusation by PAS leader that PH is facing its last days as a government, Chow urges DAP leaders, members, and supporters in Penang to give full support to the central and state leadership. He also urges the party to reassess its strategy in dealing with the BN-PN coalition ahead of the State Legislative Assembly elections and the 16th General Election.

It is crucial that we unite in facing the upcoming political challenges to continue our struggle, not just as a resistance party but as a government party at the state and central levels. The Penang political coalition between PH and BN now controls a substantial majority of 29 out of the 40 seats in the State Legislative Assembly, while the opposition consists of PAS with seven seats and Bersatu with four seats.
