Official | Union Berlin take Ivorian striker Emmanuel Latte Lath (27) on loan

Union Berlin have officially signed Ivorian striker Emmanuel Latte Lath from MLS side Atlanta United on a loan for the 2026/27 season. The 27-year-old center-forward joins the Bundesliga club with the option to purchase him permanently at the end of the campaign. Union will assume Latte Lath's full salary, which is estimated at around €2.8m per year.

The Ivorian striker joins Union following a period where the club lacked a consistent Bundesliga goalscorer. Latte Lath's arrival comes after a difficult spell in MLS, where he registered only seven goals in two seasons despite earning a reported €21m contract. Union manager Horst Heldt praised Latte Lath's pace, mentality, and instinct for goal, believing he fits their attacking profile.

The striker previously played in Italy's Serie A with Atalanta and Switzerland's St. Gallen, scoring a total of 14 goals in European football.
