Moscow mayor calls Saturday's deadly bomb attack on restaurant a 'terrorist act'

MOSCOW: Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin described the bomb attack on a restaurant as a "brutal terrorist act" without revealing the perpetrator. On Sunday, Aug 2, Sobyanin posted on social media that the victims, including a security guard, a restaurant guest, and the bomber herself, were being treated in the city's hospitals. At least 21 people were injured when the explosive device went off at Kudrinskaya Square in central Moscow.

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported the incident to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti. The attack is still under investigation, and no claim of responsibility has been made as of early Sunday afternoon.
