Limerick fighter Reeves hospitalised after Dublin defeat

Lee Reeves was hospitalized following a tough loss to Gary Cully in Dublin on Saturday night at the 3Arena. The BUI Celtic super-lightweight bout ended with Reeves going down in the 10th round. Reeves had been dominating earlier but suffered a dramatic finish. Both boxers took significant damage throughout the fight, which was the third event of the evening.

Reeves was taken off the ring on a stretcher after hitting the canvas in the final punch. Cully expressed concern, stating: "My prayers and thoughts are with Lee Reeves, hopefully he's okay." He praised his opponent's ability to compete at a higher level despite being an underdog. The promoter, Frank Warren, added: "All our thoughts and prayers are with Lee Reeves and his family."

Queensberry, the promoter, also kept the public updated on Reeves' condition, hoping for a positive outcome. In the main event, Pierce O'Leary was knocked out in the 10th round by Mark Chamberlain in a World super lightweight championship title defence.
