Lee heads home after five-nation overseas trip

President Lee Jae Myung returned to Seoul on Sunday following a five-nation overseas trip focused on bolstering collaboration with U.S. tech giants in artificial intelligence and with South American countries over critical minerals. The trip culminated in Frankfurt, where Lee met with Korean community members in Germany. Prior to Frankfurt, the leader visited San Francisco, where he engaged with heads of prominent U.S. tech firms, notably Jensen Huang from Nvidia.

Lee's subsequent stops in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina saw summits with the respective presidents, leading to agreements to enhance bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including critical and strategic minerals and crude oil imports. This excursion was designed to establish a framework for South Korea's ambition to become a global AI semiconductor manufacturing hub and to ensure a stable and diverse supply of essential minerals. Lee is set to arrive in Seoul on Monday (local time).
