'Govt forgets when donations are stolen': Cong defends Rahul after Ram Mandir skit FIR

Congress leader Pawan Khera defended opposition leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday amid an FIR registered against him and other opposition MPs following a controversial skit in Parliament. Khera accused the BJP-led government of ignoring the real issue by instead filing cases against opposition leaders. The controversy began with a demonstration in Parliament where Purnia MP Pappu Yadav, dressed as a temple priest, and other opposition MPs staged a skit involving a donation box, alleging corruption in Ram Temple donations.

This led to BJP leaders filing complaints accusing the opposition of hurting Hindu religious sentiments. The Varanasi Police registered the FIR based on complaints from a group of seers who felt the skit insulted Sanatan tradition and Lord Ram. Pawan Khera expressed concern over the theft of temple donations, stating that such actions hurt the sentiments of devotees.
