GB's Henry and Pritchard win golds at European Championships

Great Britain secured two gold medals at the European Rowing Championships in Italy, with Lauren Henry triumphing in the women's single sculls and Benjamin Pritchard winning the PR1 men's single sculls. Henry, a double Olympic gold medalist, demonstrated her prowess by maintaining her title at the event. She outpaced her competitors and held onto her lead throughout the second half of the race.

Pritchard, on the other hand, successfully defended his European title by outpacing Italian competitor Giacomo Perini. The British women's eight team, however, had to settle for silver, finishing 5.43 seconds behind Romania. These victories added to the three gold medals won by the GB team on Saturday. The championships, held in Varese, precede the 2026 World Championships in the Netherlands, which take place from August 24-30.

The British men's team is absent from Italy, as they are currently engaged in an altitude camp in Silvretta.
