'Future of tour' Eala beats Osaka to reach Washington final

Alexandra Eala advanced her promising season by defeating Naomi Osaka in a remarkable match, securing her spot in the Washington Open final. The 21-year-old Filipino player, who was previously outside the world's top 50, will now climb to a career-high ranking of 24th. Eala's win over Osaka, 6-4, 6-2, sets the stage for her showdown with world number three Jessica Pegula.

In the men's competition, third seed Taylor Fritz will clash with Spanish sensation Rafael Jodar in the final.

Fritz, seeded eighth, edged out Brandon Nakashima 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, while Jodar, rising from 165th to potentially break into the top 20, overcame Alejandro Tabilo 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.
