Galaxy S26 FE may recycle the cameras buyers hoped Samsung would replace

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 FE may retain much of the camera hardware from the Galaxy S25 FE, according to new sensor details uncovered by Android Authority. The Galaxy S26 FE, internally known as "r14," is expected to use the 50MP ISOCELL GN3 for the main sensor, identical to that found in the Galaxy S25 FE. The telephoto camera is also rumored to remain unchanged, with a 3x optical zoom lens.

Samsung could reuse two 12MP sensors, either for the ultrawide camera or selfies, depending on their arrangement. The Galaxy S26 FE may also use the Exynos 2500 instead of the Exynos 2600 found in the regular Galaxy S26 series, following the familiar "Fan Edition" strategy of only upgrading necessary components. This decision could disappoint those hoping for a substantial camera upgrade, as pricing will determine the acceptability of these compromises, especially in light of Samsung's warning about rising memory and component costs.

In contrast, Apple's new Upgrade program allows for monthly payments, spreading the cost of flagship devices. Google may also charge Pixel 11 buyers $100 more for a phone with improved but unaddressed camera hardware. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold, starting at $1,899, is expected to match the Galaxy Z Fold8's display size while costing the same as the smaller Fold8.
