The King expresses his “outrage” at the “serious events” in Ceuta and calls for “measures” to prevent them from happening again

Felipe VI has expressed his “great concern and indignation” at the “serious events” that have occurred in Ceuta, where more than 50,000 people entered from Morocco between Thursday and Friday. Through a message made public by the Royal House on Saturday, the monarch has stated that, “over these days”, he has been in contact with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez; with the presidents of the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, Juan Jesús Vivas and Juan José Imbroda, respectively; and with the leader of the opposition and of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. “He has transmitted words of encouragement and firmness to all of them,” the statement says.
