Bilawal receives JAAC response on reconciliation commission, says AJK PM to consult stakeholders on way forward

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari recently received a response from the JAAC regarding his proposal for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission in AJK. The party plans to consult key stakeholders to determine the way forward. The PPP has long advocated for the commission amid ongoing protests in AJK. Regional tensions have escalated with the JAAC and the regional administration clashing over the proposed abolishment of refugee seats in the legislative assembly.

Bilawal welcomed JAAC's willingness to engage with the proposed commission, which was also endorsed by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Bilawal emphasized his priority to end the crisis and provide relief to the region's people. He will now consult AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, who will seek input from the federal government and other stakeholders to determine if there is enough common ground to move forward with a mutual proposal.
