The defense relationship between Israel and Serbia is centered around a $1.6 billion deal with Elbit Systems. This agreement includes the production of long-range reconnaissance and combat drones, advanced AI-powered unmanned combat aerial systems, and electronic warfare infrastructure. Serbia has also purchased Elbit Systems' PULS multiple rocket launcher systems and Hermes 900 surveillance and combat drones.

The growing alliance between Israel and Serbia is driven by compatible security interests and a desire to diversify supply sources. Serbia sees this relationship as a way to draw closer to the West and balance its dependence on Russian arms. In the long term, Serbia could potentially serve as an important inland transport and distribution route from southern European maritime hubs into Europe.
