Where public transport prices are increasing in Germany on August 1

In Germany, seven local transport associations will raise ticket prices on August 1. The prices will increase for U-Bahns, S-Bahns, trams, and buses operated by these associations. The Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund will raise tickets by 5 percent in Greater Halle, which includes Leipzig, Halle, and Dessau. Fifteen ticket types will be affected, but some will remain the same cost.

The 24-Stunden-Karte, which allows free travel for up to three children, will become 50 percent cheaper for one or two passengers on August 1. The Nahverkehr Mainfranken will raise ticket prices by an average of 4.8 percent, except for the NVM 365-euro ticket, which will stay the same until the end of July 2027. The Vogtlandbahn will increase ticket prices by 8.49 percent, with a day ticket rising from 12 euros to 13 euros.

The Verkehrsverbund Mittelthüringen will raise prices by 4.69 percent, while the Verkehrsverbund Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien will raise them by 7.3 percent. The Verkehrsverbund Ems Jade will increase prices by 3 percent, and the Verkehrsverbund Bodensee-Oberschwaben will raise them by 3.9 percent.
