Vietnam recovers remains of 150 fallen soldiers at Ho Chi Minh City park

On July 29, Vietnam's search teams made progress in recovering the remains of 150 soldiers who fell in battle. The efforts centered around Ho Chi Minh City's park, where two main excavation sites were focused: Area A and Area B. By mid-afternoon, 128 individual sets of remains and 22 others from four mass graves had been identified, alongside personal artifacts.

Search operations continued at Area B, while Area A was expanded by removing over 30 cubic meters of soil from the first trench and 20 cubic meters from the second. A protective shelter was erected over Area B to maintain safe and dignified conditions during the exhumation process, respecting the fallen soldiers' memory.

In the day's operations, six more sets of martyrs' remains were discovered in Area B, with four sets found alongside personal belongings. The Ho Chi Minh City High Command is now preparing to relocate the memorial stele in the search area to allow for further excavation in Area A. Authorities remain committed to retrieving all remaining remains, honoring the sacrifice of the soldiers with deep respect from the Party, local authorities, armed forces, and the people of Ho Chi Minh City.
