Two Massive Attack Members Banned From Singapore After Pro-Palestinian Display At Concert

Two members of the renowned band Massive Attack, identified as Robert 3D Del Naja and Grant Daddy G Marshall, have been prohibited from entering Singapore and received a stern warning following a pro-Palestinian display during their concert at the Star Theatre on Wednesday, July 29th. The duo unfurled a Palestinian flag and led chanting of "Free Palestine!", actions that reportedly contravened the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) Act and the Public Order Act.

Both band members have been vocal advocates for Palestine, particularly during the ongoing conflict with Israel. In 2023, Massive Attack collaborated with Fontaines D.C. and Young Fathers to release an EP dedicated to benefitting the people of Gaza. Additionally, the band members have consistently supported artists facing intimidation for expressing their stance against Israel's military campaign.

This stance has remained unwavering in 2026, with Del Naja even criticizing Britain's handling of anti-Israel protesters and lamenting the government's inaction during a demonstration in London's Trafalgar Square. In response to the investigation, Massive Attack released a statement expressing their detention and the confiscation of some members' passports.
