Helldivers 2's Warhammer 40k warbond finally gets a release date, will let you bust out the meltaguns and meltamines

After months of speculation, the eagerly anticipated Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40k crossover warbond is set to launch on August 12th. Players who purchase the warbond will receive a collection of gear, stratagems, and cosmetics inspired by the Astra Militarum's elite Cadian Kasrkin troops. Dubbed Castellan's Creed, the warbond features two armor sets and a variety of weapons, including a powerful hot-shot marksman rifle and a compact bolt pistol.

The most unique addition is the summonable meltagun and meltamines stratagem, which can be used to eliminate enemies with a fiery explosion. Armor buffs include a passive boost to weapon handling and support weapon reload speed for both the heavy Demo-Trooper and medium Sharpshooter sets. The warbond can be purchased using super credits, which can be bought with real money or earned through gameplay.

However, players cannot use premium warbond tokens to acquire the content. Arrowhead Games acknowledges that the content will not be available for purchase with premium warbond tokens. The warbond's inclusion of Warhammer 40k lore is a tribute to the heroic Helldivers who sacrificed themselves during the First Galactic War to defend the peaceful world of Chara.

Arrowhead Games has announced efforts to combat cheaters who exploit the game to earn super credits faster than intended.
