Sunday Patriots Notes: Under-the-radar players starting to emerge in training camp

The New England Patriots held training camp practices in Foxborough, Massachusetts, during the first week of August 2026. Among the players making a name for themselves in the under-the-radar category are rookie tight end Tanner Arkin, edge defender Xavier Holmes, cornerbacks Karon Prunty and Channing Canada, and veteran left tackle Marcus Bryant.

Undrafted rookie Khalil Jacobs, who wasn't part of the first wave of signings, could make the roster as a fourth off-ball linebacker. Coach Mike Vrabel praised Jacobs' work ethic and speed, noting that his game speed is an asset despite his 40-yard dash time. Jacobs has already made several plays, establishing himself as a fourth linebacker behind Robert Spillane, Christian Elliss, and Chad Muma.

Veteran cornerback Will Campbell, who had missed some reps due to an injury, has impressed teammates with his improved technique and understanding of the game.
